Recent Detailing Projects: Auto Detailing, Paint Correction, and PPF Protection

Recent Projects at Shine Division Detailing

It’s been a busy week here at Shine Division Detailing in Oceanside, and we couldn’t be more excited to share some of the incredible transformations that rolled through our shop. From standard exterior detailing to multi-stage paint correction and a full front-end PPF (Paint Protection Film) install, this week’s projects highlight why quality prep and professional protection make all the difference.

Auto Detailing That Brings the Factory Finish Back

All vehicles that get dropped off get thorough detail prep. Every surface was carefully cleaned, decontaminated, and protected using premium Shine Supply products. Our detailing process isn’t just about appearance; it’s about restoring that crisp, “new car” feeling while preserving the materials long-term. From deep leather conditioning to thorough paint decontamination, we reset these cars to a clean foundation, ready for the next level of protection.

Paint Correction: Restoring Gloss the Right Way

A few customers came in looking to bring life back to defected paint. We performed multi-stage paint correction on several vehicles that had heavy swirl marks and oxidation.Under proper lighting, we measured, corrected, and refined the paint to a mirror-like finish—without compromising clear coat health. This process is what separates a polished car from a professionally corrected surface. Once the paint was perfected, we sealed the work with ceramic coating for lasting gloss and easy maintenance.

Full Front-End PPF: Rock Chip Protection You Can Trust

One of our highlight jobs this week was a full front-end PPF install, designed to protect against rock chips, road debris, and bug etching. This service included the hood, fenders, mirrors, bumper, and headlights—giving the vehicle full daily-driver protection while maintaining a flawless, invisible look.We use high-quality film with self-healing properties, so light scratches and swirl marks disappear with heat or sunlight. It’s an investment that pays for itself in preserved paint and peace of mind.

Why These Paint Protection Services Work Best Together

For many of our clients, combining paint correction, ceramic coating, and PPF delivers the best of all worlds—perfected paint, enhanced gloss, and durable protection. Whether you’re preserving a new car or restoring your current one, these layered services ensure your vehicle looks its best for years to come.

GM Black: Why Protecting This Specific Paint is Crucial When you own a black vehicle like this GMC Sierra, you already know how much attention it demands. There is no doubt that black paint is stunning and elegant, but it also requires extra care, especially when it comes to preserving a swirl-free finish. One of the biggest downfalls of black automotive paint is its sensitivity to swirls, scratches, and other imperfections — this is especially true when the paint is softer, which is common in most vehicles made by Toyota, Honda, and GMC. In this post, we’ll dive into how the softness of your paint affects the detailing process, and why it’s crucial to preserve it for the longevity and beauty of your vehicle. Softer paints typically feature a sensitive clear coat and are more responsive to pressure, abrasives, and environmental factors. This makes it easier for imperfections to form on the surface. Black paint, in particular, shows these flaws more prominently, which is why owners of soft paint black vehicles (like this GMC Sierra) should go the extra mile when maintaining their car’s finish.
