Ceramic Coating, PPF & Detailing Shop in Oceanside CA: January Recap

PROTECT & DETAIL YOUR VEHICLE WITH SHINE DIVISION

We kicked off January with a bunch of cool projects. Our goal is deliver a result and protection level that works well for you and your driving habits. Whether that is with our Paint Protection Film Service (PPF), Ceramic Coatings for high durability against UV damage, Paint Correction to eliminate defects and restore clarity, or our wheels off service, we enjoyed getting to work with each and every customer who recently came through!

Paint Correction Service

Paint Correction is an extremely popular service for a reason! Whether the defects were imposed by car washes, DIY mistakes or just age, a paint correction can completely eliminate or at least significantly improve the paint bringing back clarity and a flawless finish. Black paint especially is most common due to how visible defects become with this paint color. We offer a couple different correction packages depending on the paints condition, paint type and desired results. With plenty of experience, we can assess your vehicle in person and provide you an accurate quote and a plan to get your vehicle shining the way it once did! We offer multi stage paint corrections and even more advanced wet sanding methods when severe defects call for it.

Ceramic Coating - Professional Tier

Ceramic Coatings are always popular here. If you want a shiny, slick surface for your paint, a ceramic coating is a no brainer!  This is often a service done on brand new vehicles, or vehicles we perform a paint correction on prior to ceramic coating. Nonetheless, ceramic coatings provide a strong UV barrier for the paint. There are different tiers to our ceramic coating service offering a couple different products for different durability. We will often ask you how the vehicle will be cared for, whether it lives outside, how long you plan to keep it...And that will help us make a good recommendation for what coating is best for your vehicle.

Paint protection film (PPF)

Paint Protection Film is THAT Service you need for your new vehicle! BUT, it is not for everyone. PPF is a physical clear film that goes over the paint to protect against abrasions made to the surface. The primary concern being rock chips and scratches. Take a quick look at the video below to see how tough PPF really is. At Shine Division, the primary application of PPF occurs to the front end of the vehicle. That being: Hood, Fenders, Bumper, Headlights. These areas are the most vulnerable to abrasions and high impact debris from driving on highways, city streets with pot holes and loose gravel. If you purchased a brand new vehicle and want to preserve and protect the appearance, PPF is a must. Some instances where PPF is not the best fit are if you are totally ok with rock chip damage, its rarely driven and you won't be upset if some damage occurs where PPF could protect it. Customize a PPF service for just the bumper/Headlights for a more budget friendly option. We recommend PPF to be a form of protection for several years! peel it off as needed if damage occurs. PPF comes with a 10Yr Warranty on manufacture defects.

Wheels Off Detail & Ceramic Coating Service

Choosing a wheels off service can be a standalone service or a great compliment to a ceramic coating or PPF service. We dive deep on the wheels. Full clay & polish of the wheel barrels if the finish is glossy then ceramic coating applied to the full wheel. We take advantage of the wheel being off the car to do the same thing to painted calipers and deep clean the wheel wells. We love this service because we are one of the very few to offer this in depth process to really elevate the experience of the job.

GM Black: Why Protecting This Specific Paint is Crucial When you own a black vehicle like this GMC Sierra, you already know how much attention it demands. There is no doubt that black paint is stunning and elegant, but it also requires extra care, especially when it comes to preserving a swirl-free finish. One of the biggest downfalls of black automotive paint is its sensitivity to swirls, scratches, and other imperfections — this is especially true when the paint is softer, which is common in most vehicles made by Toyota, Honda, and GMC. In this post, we’ll dive into how the softness of your paint affects the detailing process, and why it’s crucial to preserve it for the longevity and beauty of your vehicle. Softer paints typically feature a sensitive clear coat and are more responsive to pressure, abrasives, and environmental factors. This makes it easier for imperfections to form on the surface. Black paint, in particular, shows these flaws more prominently, which is why owners of soft paint black vehicles (like this GMC Sierra) should go the extra mile when maintaining their car’s finish.
